My First Oreo Cookie

As we were preparing for Santa's arrival a few days ago Brad casually asked what Grayson was going to leave out for him. Since most of you know, I am NOT a baker, I decided I'd put Oreo's on the shopping list (we rarely keep cookies in the house, they are both Brad and I's weekness). Anyways, then I realized that Grayson had never actually tried an oreo. So....after he ate his lunch (as evidence from the pizza sauce that is all over his face) I got out an oreo to see what he thought. I twisted it apart and gave him both pieces. I must have had a strange face or something when I gave it to him because at first he just took both of the pieces and stared at them like, what am I suppose to do with this. Anyways, after a few seconds he decided to take a bite---and of course loved it. We've pretty much finished them all (Santa really enjoyed them too) and now that I'm thinking of them, a late night snack doesn't sound too bad---hopefully I'll beat Brad to the last few we have left.

Pictures of the week

These were some pictures that I took this week that I thought were too cute not to share. On Saturday, my sister-in-law and I took the kiddos to Terreton where my in-laws had some friends that were giving sleigh rides. The kids thought it was lots of fun to see the big horses and loved the sleigh ride even though it was a bit cold. The picture is of the boys sleeping in the car on the ride to Terreton. The other picture is one of Grayson eating breakfast. I made him toast with peanut butter but he decided not to eat the toast but instead to lick off all the peanut butter. I don't think he got very much though, most of it ended up on his face instead.

Just in case you were in a bad mood.....

I can't remember what Brad was doing, but as you can see, Grayson found it quite hilarious. His laugh is so infectious, I'll just play this video when I'm having a bad day, I think it'll do the trick.

Ohhhh...Christmas Tree

I can't believe that Christmas is just right around the corner. I haven't bought a single gift, even worse, I haven't even thought of any ideas for gifts. I take that back, I have a few ideas for Grayson but that's about it. Anyways, aside from the stress of X-mas shopping, I love decorating the house for Christmas and putting up the tree. Brad and I have had a few different trees since we got married 6 years ago. The first was a loaner from my mom, it was one of those little skinny trees, then the next couple of years we were either remodeling or moving so we missed out on having a tree. Then my mom's friend gave us a HUGE tree that took up half the room (we didn't have that tree very long) and finally last year we bought a new tree---you know one of those not too big, not too little, pre-lit, perfect tree. Brad doesn't even mind putting it up, that's how wonderful it is. My favorite part is unwrapping each ornament and placing it on the tree. Each year Brad and I purchase an ornament or two that we each pick out (it's fun because they all have some sort of special meaning or memory). It's also our tradition to pick one out for Grayson each year and eventually when he's a bit older have him pick out his very own ornament (even though it may not be what I would choose). When I was growning up we always had the "pretty" tree where everything matched, some sort of theme. I'm determined to have a tree that may not be the prettiest but that is filled with memories. I can't wait to see what this years ornaments will be--always lots of fun!

House for SALE (or rent)

Well, we almost made it a year before we decided to look for something new. The townhouse was a great stepping stone but we really want a larger yard again for this next summer for Grayson. Hopefully we'll be able to sell it or at least rent it soon. I vowed after the last time I wouldn't move again in the winter but it looks like I may be doing it once again.

I've decided after doing this slideshow that I don't like Smilebox very much. I could never figure out how to put captions on all my pictures except for the first one. Anyways, these were a few more of out October events. We carved pumpkins, went to my mom's Halloween Carnival, went to Boo at the Zoo, and last but not least went Trick or Treating. It was a wonderful month and it went by way too fast. I guess there's always next year.

Pumpkin Patch

Grayson loved the pumpkins
Somewhat of a family pic
He even loved the little ones

Today, we went to the Pumkin Patch, it was Grayson's first time there and he thought it was a great time. We really lucked out because the weather was actually warm. We picked out a great pumpkin for dad to carve when it gets a little closer to Halloween. Next, we let Grayson find his way through the Hay maze, some more photos and then it was time to go. We can't wait to go again next year.

Hang Time

He definitely didn't get his muscles from his mom!

All Before Lunch

Grayson loves playing on our bed--always trying to get away from us (his newest game)
Mom wouldn't allow him to play with the knives that he was unloading from the dishwasher
Grayson with his new friend, Puppers. He finally decided to give up and take a nap
On this day Grayson was on a roll. He woke up with tons of energy and as soon as his feet touched the ground he was off and running. His new thing is to help with dishes and he loves to help load and unload the dishwasher. Unloading isn't too bad because he'll help take things out and hand them to me but loading on the other hand is hard because the dishes are dirty and as soon as I load them he's already unloading them (you mother's understand exactly what I'm talking aobut). Anyways, after a trip to the grocery store, reading a few books, and running around outside he was getting sleepy. Usually he takes his nap after lunch but on this day he was out before I had even thought about what I was going to cook.

We miss YOU...

My sister, Taylor, left for college and we all miss her lots. It was really fun having her home last weekend but it always goes by way too fast. So....if your reading this Tay, just know that if you ever decide you've had enough with the whole college thing you can always come home and be my full time nanny--come on, you know you want to. Anyways, I know she's only a few hours away but it's still hard to have her gone. I can't wait to visit soon. We LOVE YOU, be good!

Crazy Aunts

Grayson: "Mom, look what they did to me"

Grayson: "Much better!"
So...I came home from work the other day after my sisters had been watching Grayson and this is what I came home to. They had taken him to the DI and found this outfit, put him in it and drew a mole with eye liner on his upper lip. He wasn't too crazy about the whole thing but he did look awfully cute.

Father and Son

I love getting pictures of my two boys together. Since we had Grayson he's never went to daycare. The only way that is possible is because Brad is such a hands on dad and stays home with him part-time. We joke that it doesn't pay the best but we both think it's extremely important and love the fact that it's even possible. To my husband....I understand that sometimes Grayson is difficult and that and the word patience has taken on a whole new meaning since we had children but....I think your a wonderful father and I feel so blessed to have you in my life. Remember, I love you forever.

Movin' on Up....

On Friday morning Taylor left for college. These pictures were taken the night before she left, unfortunately I took lots of pictures and she was busy packing so she never got ready for the day. She's only been gone for 3 days and I already miss her like crazy. We went to mom and dad's for dinner on Saturday and it just wasn't the same without her. I know she's only 4 hours away but it still sucks. I know she's homesick but I keep telling her she's going to have the time of her life---there's nothing better than your college days---she will soon find out. Regardless, I miss her and hope she won't forget us (Taylor, if your reading this you better come home lots and remember we're only a phone call away). I know she'll do really good in school and I wish her the best of luck.

Outdoor fun

I find it amusing how parents (Brad and I included) will go to the toy store and spend all kinds of money on toys when really the kids are fine with the most random stuff at your house. These pictures were taken on Sunday while we were at Val and Nancy's for Kaden's birthday party. You gotta love the outfit, Hilary bought it for him on her trip to Universal Studios.

American Idol Concert

Me and my mom (this is seriously such a bad picture of myself, ahhh)
David Archuletta
For my birthday gift this year my bought her and I tickets to the American Idol Summer Tour in SLC. I have to admit that I didn't watch all of the show this season but I saw at least 3 episodes. Anyways, the concert was a lot of fun. My mom and I drove down, ate dinner, went to the concert, and I got a WONDERFUL nights rest without my little one---thanks to my darling husband who volunteered to stay home with him.

Too cute!

I had to post this picture because I thought Grayson looked absolutely adorable, Brad thinks he looks like a girl but whatever. He's not too sure about the hat and glasses. I think they only stayed on for about 30 seconds or so, just long enough to take a picture.

Car Wash

Grayson decided to help mom and dad wash the vehicles. He did a pretty good job, after all his hard work he deserved a drink of Coke.

Camping with the Koster's

Grayson and Kaden playing on Janson's 4-wheeler
Playing in the creek
Oh....it's cold!

Yesterday, we went to Fall Creek for the day with the Koster's and the Webster's. Grayson had lots of fun playing with the kids. There was a creek that ran right behind the camp site which was COLD but still fun to play in.

4th of July

Lighting fireworks, Grayson wasn't too crazy about this. He would watch some of them but the ones that made any noise he hated!

Do you like the forehead? Right when we got to the BBQ he fell and hit his head on the leg of the chair, ouch!

Somewhat of a family photo, Grayson was apparently more interested in something else behind us.

Summer's Finally Here

Today my sister and I decided to get Grayson's pool out for him. It was a really nice day and we had a lot of fun hanging out outside. Grayson didn't know quite what to think about the cold water so we just filled the pool up a little bit. He had just as much fun outside the pool walking around it as he did inside. What a silly boy~

My First Haircut

BEFORE (very unhappy)
AFTER (much better)

Grayson got his first haircut after he turned 1 year old. We used the buzzer on him and he didn't like it all because he wanted to hold it. Anyways, after it was over and he had a bath, he looked pretty darn sweet! Hopefully it won't grow too fast so we won't have to do it again for awhile.
